Alexandera Houchin is a citizen of the Fond du Lac Band of Lake Superior Ojibwe. She resides in her tribal community in Nagahchiwanong (Cloquet, Minnesota). Alexandera competes in ultra endurance mountain bike races across the country, most notably setting a new women’s single speed record on the 2700-mile Tour Divide in 2019.

She believes in resilience through movement, and has been extending invitations to her community members to ride bikes alongside each other. This has been a part of her fellowship passion project; developing an indigenous led experiential learning non-profit. Her journey of exploring her own cultural teachings has kept her moving forward in moments when she thought she had nothing left to give. Those teachings are at the heart of everything she does.

Taylor is also a big advocate for mental health and living a purpose-driven life.
